I was at my boyfriend's intramural softball game last night, and I heard someone say that he was a mySpace stalker...and I was thinking to myself..."Stalking is not something that you would readily admit in public, but OK"...Everyone around the guy started laughing. When did the word "stalker" become something that everyone is comfortable with? I thought that was interesting.

Kathryn - To me, since Mark Zuckerberg (facebook founder) said "Calm down. Breathe. We hear you", I've seen anger and disappointment. But I'm not sure whether member are moving out of facebook or not? Stalker become normal since then, I guess.
I like that Vasa commented on your post, because he made a great little movie about this for Designing Integrated Media. I don't think the word stalker has become "normal", but with facebook and myspace becoming so big, people have new ways to check others out before meeting them, and with the facebook feeds that tell you what all your friends have been doing on facebook, "stalking" when not in an illegal way has become something that is not only normal, but encouraged.
